Hair Transplant

Hair is one of the physical traits that define each and everyone’s appearance. It is what makes everyone confident, charismatic and attractive among others. But once we start to experience hair loss in large numbers, we lose that confidence we once had.

However, with technologies in the medical sector, different hair loss remedies has been found out and have been successful in many people. Some of the current hair loss treatments typically done are hair weaving, PRP treatments, hair transplants, etc.

Here we explain two of the most popular hair loss treatments normally done by people. One is PRP treatment and the other is FUE treatment.

If you are that unfortunate person stuck with hair loss and want to know the best procedure for treating your hair loss, then this blog is for you.

The two types

When it comes to hair loss treatment, there are two categories of treatment procedures which are surgical and nonsurgical procedures.

The surgical procedure involves making tiny incisions using surgical tools, whereas, in nonsurgical methods, it mostly has only injections and does not involve making any cutting using tools. As mentioned earlier, two of the most important treatments currently preferred are PRP and FUE.

So, what are the differences between the two? Read on and you will find out.

Short for Platelet-rich plasma, it is a type of nonsurgical treatment for hair loss. It basically involves injecting platelet in the balding areas on the scalp. The importance of platelets is that it has healing properties which also stimulates hair growth.

PRP therapy has been effective in treating injuries for athletes. However, the PRP treatment for hair, although has been scientifically proven, it has not yet used as a standard medical procedure.

But many people prefer this procedure for their hair loss issues.

The biggest advantage of this procedure is that since it is a nonsurgical process, it does not involve any cuttings and the platelet that is injected on your scalp is taken from your body in the first place, so chances for infections.

Short for Follicular Unit Extraction, it’s one of the most widely used procedures for hair loss issues. FUE falls under hair transplant category, therefore it is a hair transplant method. Hair transplants are generally considered a permanent solution

Hair Transplant

The benefits of FUE is that it promotes natural hair growth in the areas where the hair is thinning, thus effectively solving hair loss.

Since the hair follicles used for transplanting is taken from the healthy part of your own head, this results in getting a natural appearance for your hair, unlike hair weaving in which the “fixed” hair looks artificial.

Normally FUE hair transplant surgery is performed under general anesthesia under the supervision of a highly experienced and qualified surgeon. Although this process is expensive, the results are worth the price.

How is it done?

In the PRP process, a blood sample is taken from your body and it is placed in a centrifugal machine which spins it at rapid speeds. This is done to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the blood.

Hair Transplant

After the spinning process, the blood sample is separated into red blood cells, platelet rich plasma and platelet poor plasma. The platelet-rich plasma is then extracted and injected on the areas of the scalp where the hair is thinning.

Whereas in the FUE procedure, the hair follicles are extracted and transferred to the area where hair loss is prominent. For extracting the follicles, it is taken from areas which are the sides and back region of the head.

Hair Transplant

This is done with the help of a surgical extraction instrument which has a diameter less than 1mm diameter. The extracted grafts are then implanted using a high powered stereo microscope. Typically a graft constitutes of up to two or more follicles.

The good choice

Both the procedures have its advantages and features and offer the same end result which is natural hair growth. One is done in via surgical method and the other one is done via nonsurgical method i.e injection.

The choice is generally up to the customer based on their preferences and considering factors such as cost, the reputation of hair clinic, future treatments, and more. One thing to know is that when these procedures are performed, initial hair loss is apparent but there’s no need to worry as it is natural.

However, to get long lasting benefits, it is recommended to do the procedure at a well known professional hair clinic. The thing about professional clinics is that only professionals will do the procedures with the utmost care.
